Dogtainers Melbourne office

Melbourne is a critical location for Australian pet travel, as it’s where imported international pets complete their mandatory quarantine. The Mickleham Post-Entry Quarantine (PEQ) facility is only 25 mins away from our Melbourne office.

The Melbourne team is experienced, helpful and caring, with decades of collective experience in the pet travel industry. Our team understands the struggles and concerns pet owners face when planning travel for their pets, that’s why we do everything in our power to make the owner’s experience easier, and the pet’s trip more comfortable.

We have 17 team members located at this office – 12 pet travel consultants and five dedicated operational team members. We have regular morning pick ups where our drivers will bring your pet to the office for a comfort stop before they travel on to their final destination. For your convenience, we also have crates available for hire or purchase at this facility.

Our office can accommodate approximately ten dogs and eight cats. If the layover is more than six hours, we will transfer your pets to our pet retreat partners for a more comfortable stay.

Dogtainers Melbourne Team Members

Jonathan Marshall – Melbourne Branch Manager

Since 1994, Jonathan has been the backbone of Dogtainers Melbourne’s operations and growth. Besides assisting with pet travels, he’s also an all-breed judge – a title that’s not easy to claim, as judges are required to pass both written and practical exams. In his spare time, he teaches others to become judges.

He has three beautiful dalmatians called Catch, Siri, and Gretchen Weiners. Before Dogtainers, he studied aquatic biology and worked in the aircraft logistic industry.

Lisa Corken - International Pet Travel Consultant

Lisa started working with Dogtainers in April 2021. As she’s a very nurturing person, she worked as a nurse for many years. But after many years in the field, she wanted a career change. She eventually found Dogtainers, and decided to devote her love and attention into keeping pets happy, safe, and comfortable during their travels.

She loves animals and has two fur babies at home: Maximilian, a seven-year-old husky cross, and Mufasa, a five-year-old cat. She keeps photos of them on her desk to remind her that the bookings she’s managing are for pets like her own. She loves travelling and has lived in Europe for many years, and has been overseas countless times.

Ellie Collins - Domestic Pet Travel Consultant

Ellie has been with Dogtainers for 1.5 years, and before joining the domestic team, she helped out in the operations in the warehouse, taking care of pet pick ups and drop offs. She enjoys working with animals as she’s always loved pets.

She has a gorgeous dalmatian called Zoe at home who loves socialising with other dogs. Outside of work, Ellie enjoys all kinds of dance and has been dancing for more than 18 years.

Jess Pajalic - Logistic Manager

Jess manages pet transport logistics, which includes ensuring the drivers’ run sheets are accurate and planning pickups and dropoffs. Having worked with Dogtainers for ten years, she’s very experienced and enjoys what she does.

Before Dogtainers, she worked as a customer service consultant at a horse racing stable. She has two dogs at home, 12-year-old Brandy and seven-year-old Trigger, a rescue dog.

Louise Weekes - Domestic Pet Travel Consultant

Louise has been with Dogtainers for 1.5 years. Before transitioning to the domestic team, she gained hands-on experience as a Dogtainers’ driver.

Louise started participating in dog shows at an early age. Over the years, she and her dog Milo have won many competitions, including the Royal Melbourne’s Junior Handler Championship in 2019. After her 2019 win, she was invited to attend Crufts, one of the biggest dog shows in the world.

Alycia Dean - Domestic Pet Travel Consultant

Originally from Wales in the UK, Alycia joined the Melbourne team in October 2021. After moving to Melbourne with her partner, they adopted a two-year old rabbit named Oreo, who instantly became a cherished member of the family.

Before joining Dogtainers, she was a professional personal trainer. She enjoys exercising and ballroom and Latin dancing.

Emily Marshall - International Pet Travel Consultant

Emily has been with the Dogtainers team for over seven years. Having worked as both a driver and domestic consultant, she’s since transitioned to the international pet travel team.

In her free time, Emily participates in dog shows with her dog, Pirate. The pair have even been featured on TV a few times! Their most recent achievement is receiving the Grand Champion title from Dogs Australia.

Steve brown - Warehouse Manager

Steve has been with Dogtainers for 2.5 years and is currently serving as our warehouse manager. Steve’s usually the one who greets your pets when they arrive in the Melbourne office. He also manages the drivers, ensures the vans are well-maintained, and that the equipment is fully stocked.

Before joining Dogtainers, he worked as a correctional officer. He’s always loved animals and has a whole house full of furbabies. He has a 3-year-old rescue dog, an American Staffie (Louie), and four cats (Noah, Joshie, Patty, and Molly). He’s very familiar with pet behaviour and pet care, as he’s grown up having pets around. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and occasionally coaches a local junior basketball team.

Thomas Marshall - Pet Transport Driver

Thomas started working with Dogtainers in early 2020 as a driver. As a Marshall, Thomas has a lot of experience in breeding, showing, and raising dogs.
