Darren has been operating the business in Cairns since 2014. He brought a long history of working in a logistics environment, combined with a farming and animal husbandry background. Throughout his career, Darren has completed studies in leadership, management and accounting. Darren has a passion for animals and their safe transport, his expertise spans both domestic and international pet travel. As a pet owner, Darren understands customers’ needs and worries when arranging pet travel.

Archie Alcorn

Team Cheerleader

Archie is a three-year-old Schnauzer from the Alcorn family. He’s the Cairns team’s cheerleader and often hangs out with everyone in the office. He has travelled with Dogtainers domestically and loves exploring new destinations.

Mandy Lucas

Domestic Pet Travel Consultant

After being involved with Dogtainers Cairns for over 25 years initially as a co-owner – Mandy now enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of working as a casual employee with the fantastic Team. She loves being involved with many regular breeders and rescue groups and finds it very rewarding. In her spare time, she’s engaged in triathlons as a coach and an athlete. Mandy is also a true Cairns local for 44 years.

Chloe Longbottom

Domestic Pet Travel Consultant

Chloe has been working in Dogtainers Cairns for 2.5 years. Before joining the team, she worked with a local airline, Skytrans, so she’s very familiar with the aviation industry and well-trained in customer service. Chloe’s been living in Cairns for over 10 years with her family and her dog Douglas. Outside work, she likes to visit her family in the Tablelands and hang out with Douglas.

Amanda Veric

Domestic Pet Travel Consultant

Amanda is an experienced pet travel consultant working at Dogtainers for 1.5 years. Before joining the team, Amanda had worked in the hospitality industry and always enjoyed helping customers. While working at Dogtainers Cairns, she thinks it’s heart-warming and fulfilling to help pets reunite with their family, especially in regional pet relocation and rescue animal transport. As a Cairns local for 8 years, she also loves to hang out with her family pets in her spare time.

Aliina Hyytinen

Domestic Pet Travel Consultant

Aliina joined the team in early 2022. Before joining the team, she had been busy raising her young children and spent 6 years as a serving member of the Defence force, prior to that hairdressing. With the combined experiences, Aliina is organised, and has excellent attention to detail along with friendly customer service. She understands the needs of defence families, particularly when needing to relocate. She has lived in Cairns for 15 years with her family and 2 dogs named Pepper and Bear.

Shaun O’Donahoo

Operations Coordinator

Shaun started working with Dogtainers in early 2022. He has lived in Cairns for 30 years and understands the local area. He previously owned his own business, he understands customers and their needs, and he is a friendly face when it’s time to have your pet collected or delivered. As an operations coordinator, Shaun is experienced in caring for all kinds of pets. Outside work, he enjoys family life and spending time with his kids.
